Week 5 Rehearsal Schedule

Hello Everyone!

My apologies for not sending this email out sooner - these summer weekends just fly by so fast!  Welcome to Week 5 of rehearsals!  The rehearsal schedule for this week is below.  For this week, the Main and Orphan choruses are not called Monday and Wednesday.  However, if you would like to attend rehearsal on Monday and Wednesday, we would love to have you.

Also, as a reminder, as soon as you have your costume shoes, please start wearing them at rehearsals.

Last, starting today, we will be off-book.  This means that all lines, lyrics, and blocking must be memorized as best as possible - no scripts will be allowed on stage anymore.

Re-Schedule and Announcements

Hey Everybody!

First of all, a big thank you to everyone for all of their help during rehearsal tonight!  I hope everyone got home safely.  As a result of the missed rehearsal tonight, we will be making up this time next Thursday, June 30th.  Everyone in the cast will be called at 7pm and we will run through the show.

Also, please remember that this Monday, the 27th, we are off-book.  This means that all lines, lyrics, and blocking must be memorized by that day.  Please try not to paraphrase any lines - the memorized words should be almost exactly the same as the words in the script.

I would like to update everyone on the announcement regarding helping out backstage during the performances.  Since our backstage parents will only be working with the Orphan chorus, we would prefer to have only Moms help out backstage.  If you are available to work backstage during a performance and you are a Mom, please contact patkopicki@gmail.com

At rehearsal tonight, I also announced that tickets are currently on sale for Annie, so please call the NCC Box Office if you would like tickets for a performance.

Also, if you currently have the costume shoes you will be wearing during the performances, please feel free to wear them during rehearsals.  This way you can get a feel of how to dance in your costume shoes.

Thank you all again so much, and I look forward to seeing the full cast again Thursday!

We are in need of parents to help out backstage during the show. Parents would need to be available at least 1 night of Tech week (for training) and for at least 1 performance.  You do not need to work every performance in order to help, but please feel free to volunteer for as many performances as you would like.  Show dates will be filled on a first come, first serve basis, so please list all the dates you are available.  If you are interested, please contact patkopicki@gmail.com

As always, if you have any questions, please feel free and let me know.  I look forward to seeing all of you when I am back at rehearsals this week!

Opening/Closing Cast and Costume Shoes

Hello All!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week 3 of rehearsals!  Less than 30 days until showtime! I apologize for this email being sort of lengthy, but it contains information about both opening/closing cast performances and about shoes for both choruses.  Hopefully this will clarify some still lingering questions :)

Both the main chorus and the orphan chorus will be in all performances.  For people that are double-cast, the dates which each person performs are listed below.

Opening cast: Performing on July 15, 17, and 23
Annie-Taylor
Molly- Megan
Kate- Jessica
Pepper- Gina
Tessie-Doris
Duffy- Julia
July- Natalie

Closing cast: Performing on 16, 22, and 24
Annie-Isabella
Molly-Mia
Kate-Claire
Pepper-Audrey
Tessie- Emma
Duffy- Margaret
July- Gina

Chorus Shoes

For the orphans, Brian would like something like this:

The shoes would need to be distressed big time. The color does not matter, and it also does not matter if they are high tops, low tops, or a low boot. The messier the better.

Annie will need black patent leather Mary Janes for the Warbucks scenes.

The adults need either character or dress shoes in black. For Hooverville, adults need beat-up work boots, goloshes, shoes with holes in them, shoes that are too big. . . you get my drift. They should go crazy at a thrift store or get old shoes from around the house and beat them up.

No dance shoes on any orphans. No jazz shoes on any of the adults. They are wrong for the show unless they beat up a pair for Hooverville. Also, I don't want anyone spending a ton of money on special shoes. There is no need to. If the adults don't have character shoes, then black dress shoes are fine. Ladies should have a 2" heel. Men should not. :-)

Please let me know if you have any questions, and have a wonderful rest of week 3!

Hello All!

Congratulations on finishing week 2 of rehearsals!  I can't believe we only have 34 days until opening night!

Please double-check the spelling of your name on the cast list as soon as possible, and please also double-check you are listed under the correct roles.  Also, for most people that have speaking parts, you should be listed under your the name of your role in addition to being listed in the chorus.  (For example, if you are the speaking part of "Molly," you should be listed under the name Molly and also under the Orphan Chorus).  Please email me as soon as possible with corrections or questions because this cast list will be the one used in the program for the show.

Here is the breakdown of Week 3 rehearsals:

Buckets and T-Shirts

Hey Everyone!

I just have two quick announcements for you as week 2 of Annie wraps up.

1.  Please let us know as soon as possible if you would like to order a t-shirt.  Please make sure we have your size and payment as soon as possible.

2.  We are looking for metal buckets to use in the show.   If you happen to have one, please let us know as soon as possible.  They will not be damaged or changed in any way, and they are for the orphans to use in the song Hard Knock Life.  If you wouldn't mind letting us use your bucket during the show, please use masking tape to label the inside of your bucket and bring it to rehearsal.

Week 2 Announcements and T-Shirt Orders

Hey Everyone!

Below are a few announcements I wanted to be sure to send out this week.

1.  We are ordering t-shirts for Annie this week.  We are ordering them much earlier this year so that we can all wear them on 4th of July weekend.    If you have turned in a health form, then we have your t-shirt size already, but if you have not turned in your health form, then we do not have your t-shirt size.  They cost $10 each and come in Youth and Adult sizes.  Please bring money with you to rehearsal this week, preferably cash.   If you do not have money this week, you may still place an order for a t-shirt - however, we need to have your payment as soon as possible.  Feel free to order extra t-shirts if relatives or family members are interested.  The front and back images for the t-shirts are pictured below.

2.  On Tuesday 6/14, the orphans are not required to be at rehearsal until 8pm.

3.  The date for being off-book is Monday the 27th of June.  This means all lines, lyrics, and blocking needs to be memorized by that time.

Feel free and let me know if you have any questions about any of these announcements.  See you all at rehearsal later this week!

Announcements from rehearsal last night are below:
  • Welcome to Annie 2011! :)
  • Please always wear comfortable clothing with closed toe shoes to rehearsals .  Also, always bring a pencil and your music packet (or script book) with you.

  • Please make sure my cell phone number it is in your phone in case you will ever be late to a rehearsal.  The best way to get a hold of me is to text, but feel free to call or email as well.  Always let me know as soon as possible if you are going to miss a rehearsal.
  • When you arrive at rehearsal, the first thing you should always do is sign-in at the Callboard.  Announcements will also be posted on the Callboard as well.
  • If you have a script book (NOT a chorus packet), please only write in soft, lead pencil.
  • Please make sure to register at the Office of Camps and Conferences.
