Wednesday Call Times and Announcements

Hello Everyone!

Thank you all so much again for a wonderful night of tech!  Here are a few announcements for tomorrow.

Makeup and hair should be styled starting Wednesday night.  We strongly suggest that everyone arrive with hair and makeup already finished.  As a reminder, you should use basic makeup of base, blush, eye liner (pencil is better. . . not too heavy), and shadow.

Everyone needs to bring with them a garment bag, shoes (beat up shoes for orphans and Hooverville, and nice shoes for servants), socks, and an undershirt.  Maids will also need tights, and we suggest all women bring in bobby pins for their hair in case they need them.  All of these items need to stay at Pfeiffer overnight until after Sunday's show - they should not be taken home for any reason.

All costume shoes need to be here by tomorrow.  They were due on Monday originally, so please bring them tomorrow if you still have not brought your shoes.

Orphans, please remember that your dressing rooms have been switched.  All girls ages 10-12 are in Pfeiffer 25, and all girls 6-9 are in Pfeiffer 36.  Please remember that during the show, you must ask a backstage mom if you need to leave your dressing room for any reason.

Call Times for Wednesday
Everyone is called at 6:30pm unless their name is listed below.  We will be doing notes at 6:30 in the lobby, not the house.

Tech Week Announcements

Hello Everyone!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!  Can you believe tech week is here already?  Below you will find announcements about tech week regarding microphone notes, makeup and hair notes, costumes, backstage food, and call times.  Please read every announcement that pertains to you, and feel free and let me know if you have any questions.  Tech week is a little crazy, so any questions I can answer through email before Monday would be great :)

When you arrive on Monday, please first sign in and look at the bulletin board for you dressing room assignment.  When we are ready for notes, we will gather everyone into the house.

Microphones
Please have all of your hair and makeup finished before putting on your microphone (if you wear one).  We do not want the microphones to pick up hairspray or makeup.

Makeup and Hair
For the main chorus, an email was previously sent out about makeup and hair.  (These notes are also posted on the website if you misplaced the email.)
For the orphan chorus, please apply the basic makeup that was listed in the previous email.  Hair should look generally unkempt, seemingly dirty, messy, knotted. . . the uglier and uncombed, the better.

Costumes
Please arrive Monday with your shoes, socks, and garment bag with a hanger.  The garment bag should be clearly labeled with your name.  You will receive your costume for the show by Wednesday at the latest, so please do not worry if you do not have a costume on Monday.

Backstage Food
The only food allowed backstage is pretzels and water.  It is extremely important that all pretzels are free of peanuts due to allergies in the cast.  We would appreciate if you wouldn't mind checking the ingredients list and avoiding peanuts.

Call Times
Everyone is called at 6pm unless their name is listed below.  We strongly encourage chorus members to arrive with their hair and makeup already finished.

Corks, Ushers, and Makeup

Hello Everyone!

I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weather!  I just have a couple of announcements for everyone.

First, we are in need of corks for the performances.  If you wouldn't mind saving any corks you may have and turning them in to me, we will be burning the ends to use as makeup for the show.

Second, we are in need of ushers for the performances.  We need 12 ushers for each performance (July 15th, 16th, 17th, 22nd, 23rd, 24th) and ushers must be there 30 minutes before the show starts.  Two ushers stand at each door and help to hand out programs.  After everyone has been seated, ushers also can fill in any empty seats and see the show for free.  If you are an interested parent or family member, please email me as soon as possible if there are certain days you would like to usher.  Ushers may work multiple performances, but you may not usher if you are in the cast of Annie.  Please email me your name, the dates you can work, and your phone number.

Third, I have attached some images of how Brian would like makeup done for the cast of Annie.  For hair and make up, this is a very "neat" period.  He would like basic makeup of base, blush, eye liner (pencil is better. . . not too heavy), and shadow.  For the orphans, we will be using burnt cork as well to make them look grimy and dirty.  Please look at the attached images and let us know if you have any questions.  (If the images do not transfer in email, please try the website.)

Thank you all so much, and I'll see you all soon!

Also, as a reminder, as soon as you have your costume shoes, please start wearing them at rehearsals.

Re-Schedule and Announcements

Hey Everybody!

First of all, a big thank you to everyone for all of their help during rehearsal tonight!  I hope everyone got home safely.  As a result of the missed rehearsal tonight, we will be making up this time next Thursday, June 30th.  Everyone in the cast will be called at 7pm and we will run through the show.

Also, please remember that this Monday, the 27th, we are off-book.  This means that all lines, lyrics, and blocking must be memorized by that day.  Please try not to paraphrase any lines - the memorized words should be almost exactly the same as the words in the script.

I would like to update everyone on the announcement regarding helping out backstage during the performances.  Since our backstage parents will only be working with the Orphan chorus, we would prefer to have only Moms help out backstage.  If you are available to work backstage during a performance and you are a Mom, please contact patkopicki@gmail.com

At rehearsal tonight, I also announced that tickets are currently on sale for Annie, so please call the NCC Box Office if you would like tickets for a performance.

Also, if you currently have the costume shoes you will be wearing during the performances, please feel free to wear them during rehearsals.  This way you can get a feel of how to dance in your costume shoes.

Thank you all again so much, and I look forward to seeing the full cast again Thursday!

As always, if you have any questions, please feel free and let me know.  I look forward to seeing all of you when I am back at rehearsals this week!

Opening/Closing Cast and Costume Shoes

Hello All!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week 3 of rehearsals!  Less than 30 days until showtime! I apologize for this email being sort of lengthy, but it contains information about both opening/closing cast performances and about shoes for both choruses.  Hopefully this will clarify some still lingering questions :)

Both the main chorus and the orphan chorus will be in all performances.  For people that are double-cast, the dates which each person performs are listed below.

Opening cast: Performing on July 15, 17, and 23
Annie-Taylor
Molly- Megan
Kate- Jessica
Pepper- Gina
Tessie-Doris
Duffy- Julia
July- Natalie

Closing cast: Performing on 16, 22, and 24
Annie-Isabella
Molly-Mia
Kate-Claire
Pepper-Audrey
Tessie- Emma
Duffy- Margaret
July- Gina

Chorus Shoes

For the orphans, Brian would like something like this:

The shoes would need to be distressed big time. The color does not matter, and it also does not matter if they are high tops, low tops, or a low boot. The messier the better.

Annie will need black patent leather Mary Janes for the Warbucks scenes.

The adults need either character or dress shoes in black. For Hooverville, adults need beat-up work boots, goloshes, shoes with holes in them, shoes that are too big. . . you get my drift. They should go crazy at a thrift store or get old shoes from around the house and beat them up.

No dance shoes on any orphans. No jazz shoes on any of the adults. They are wrong for the show unless they beat up a pair for Hooverville. Also, I don't want anyone spending a ton of money on special shoes. There is no need to. If the adults don't have character shoes, then black dress shoes are fine. Ladies should have a 2" heel. Men should not. :-)

Please let me know if you have any questions, and have a wonderful rest of week 3!

Checking the Cast List and Week 3 Schedule

Hello All!

Congratulations on finishing week 2 of rehearsals!  I can't believe we only have 34 days until opening night!

Please double-check the spelling of your name on the cast list as soon as possible, and please also double-check you are listed under the correct roles.  Also, for most people that have speaking parts, you should be listed under your the name of your role in addition to being listed in the chorus.  (For example, if you are the speaking part of "Molly," you should be listed under the name Molly and also under the Orphan Chorus).  Please email me as soon as possible with corrections or questions because this cast list will be the one used in the program for the show.

Here is the breakdown of Week 3 rehearsals:
Monday 6/13
No rehearsal

Tuesday 6/14

8 to 10 Review from the top of the show with everyone in the show from Scene 1 to Scene 5 (this includes the main chorus and the orphan chorus)

Buckets and T-Shirts

Hey Everyone!

I just have two quick announcements for you as week 2 of Annie wraps up.

1.  Please let us know as soon as possible if you would like to order a t-shirt.  Please make sure we have your size and payment as soon as possible.

2.  We are looking for metal buckets to use in the show.   If you happen to have one, please let us know as soon as possible.  They will not be damaged or changed in any way, and they are for the orphans to use in the song Hard Knock Life.  If you wouldn't mind letting us use your bucket during the show, please use masking tape to label the inside of your bucket and bring it to rehearsal.

Week 2 Announcements and T-Shirt Orders

Hey Everyone!

Below are a few announcements I wanted to be sure to send out this week.

1.  We are ordering t-shirts for Annie this week.  We are ordering them much earlier this year so that we can all wear them on 4th of July weekend.    If you have turned in a health form, then we have your t-shirt size already, but if you have not turned in your health form, then we do not have your t-shirt size.  They cost $10 each and come in Youth and Adult sizes.  Please bring money with you to rehearsal this week, preferably cash.   If you do not have money this week, you may still place an order for a t-shirt - however, we need to have your payment as soon as possible.  Feel free to order extra t-shirts if relatives or family members are interested.  The front and back images for the t-shirts are pictured below.

2.  On Tuesday 6/14, the orphans are not required to be at rehearsal until 8pm.

3.  The date for being off-book is Monday the 27th of June.  This means all lines, lyrics, and blocking needs to be memorized by that time.

Feel free and let me know if you have any questions about any of these announcements.  See you all at rehearsal later this week!
